2015 Service Project - Children's Book Drive

January 6, 2016

Thank you to everyone who was involved in our 2015 Service Project - the Children's Book Drive for Westside Children's Center!!

The book drive ran in the Fall, up until November 21st. Our intention was to donate these books to WCC's Educational Center to benefit the children there and fill up their library. Many of the children WCC serves live below poverty level. The target age range for books was for 0-5 years old.

We quickly met our goal of 300 books in about 2 weeks after starting the drive. As it all continued, we  were able to meet more than double our initial goal. We donated nearly 700 books for the children.

Volunteers, Janelle & Christina, dropping off books wtih Kristen Mooney at Westside Children's Center.

There are so many people we would like to thank, specifically our drop off centers.
Thank you to Miss Erin at Star Dance Center for once again being a drop-off location for us. We love Star Dance and they are a pleasure to work with!

Thank you to hairstylist, Amanda Tuller, and Salon 7 for also being another one of our drop-off locations!

And thank you to Karla Escobar and Wise Owl Media Group for being a drop-off location in the San Fernando Valley area!

Thank you to Kristen Mooney at Westside Children's for allowing us to work with such a wonderful service and organization!

And to everyone who shared the cause, donated books, or helped with pick-up/drop-off...THANK YOU FOR LEADING KINDLY WITH US to help encourage education for children in need and to break cycles of poverty! Literacy plays a huge factor in breaking cycles and giving kids in need the boost to a better education and life. Thank you for being a part of that! We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & holiday season and have a great 2016 ahead! It's never too late to make a resolution to lead more kindly and to serve others in need!

Love,
The Project Lead Kindly team!
